Abstract

Romanian tourism in our country is the economic sector which has a valuable development potential, yet sufficiently unexploited. Tourism development would increase the GDP as well as the profit obtained from the tourism entrepreneurs. Economic phenomena are complex and are influenced by several factors, leading to the development of more complex models. In this paper we present econometric modelling share turnover of Romanian tourism, for the period 1992 - 2006, depending on the share of the staff engaged in tourism, the number of tourist establishments, number of beds and number of tourists accommodated, and this analysis is done with a regression model of Cobb - Douglas function. Based on the data from the sample we build an econometric model, estimate and test model parameters, we calculate the correlation report and the de termination report, classical hypothesis testing model analyzed using SPSS.
